Hyscorean fitting errors in MATLAB 2023b

Post by JHarbort »

Hello everyone!

I've been investigating using Hyscorean for some HYSCORE analysis, but there seem to be a few gnarly errors when I try to run the fitting utility under MATLAB 2023b. One is a graphics error (which I guess might be related to MATLAB changing undocumented features?) and the next I have come across seems to be due to a change in the format of the esfit function arguments (so possibly an EasySpin 5 => 6 issue).

Has anyone else been using Hyscorean on a similarly new MATLAB version?

I can share the specific details of the errors if someone is interested in resolving them, I just thought the easiest thing to check first is whether anyone has come across them.

Dear Joshua,

we are aware of the compatibility issues of Hyscorean when trying to run fitting with current EasySpin 6.
We are planning to release an updated Hyscorean version in October to address these issues.

With respect to Matlab 2023b, thanks for the hint, we will include that in tests then, however, our first priority is the point above.

Best wishes,
Daniel

That's good to hear! Let me know if you need any more information on the errors I get (though I suspect you'll resolve them as you go).

It was good to meet you at EFEPR, too!

Joshua
